There is no way to predict injuries in Connecticut car accidents

One person involved in a car accident can walk away with only minor injuries while another dies. There is no way to predict what injuries Connecticut residents involved in car accidents will suffer. Safety tests conducted on vehicles indicate that certain injuries can occur based on the type of crash and the position of the vehicle's occupants, but what happens in reality can be drastically different.

For instance, two vehicles collided at an intersection. One vehicle was entering an intersection heading north, and the other vehicle was heading west. The westbound vehicle crashed into the northbound car. Police are still trying to determine which driver was at fault for the crash and whether any factors contributed to it.

The 87-year-old Connecticut man in the northbound vehicle had to be extricated from the wreckage by emergency personnel. He suffered a catastrophic head injury, and at least report was in serious condition at an area hospital. The driver of the other vehicle is reportedly in good condition at the hospital after suffering an injury to his arm. The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team and the Bristol Police Department is investigating the crash and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events leading up to it to contact them.

It could be some time before a determination is made regarding which driver was responsible for the crash. In the meantime, both drivers would benefit from gaining an understanding of the rights and responsibilities drivers have regarding car accidents. If a court finds a driver to be negligent, the other party may receive an award of damages allowed under state laws.
