Motorcycle accidents may require independent investigation

Most Connecticut motorcycle riders would agree that the same advantages of riding also open them up to additional risk. Other drivers who somehow fail to see riders cause many motorcycle accidents. Being on a motorcycle in a crash often means more serious injuries and a greater possibility of death. Obtaining compensation for injuries -- or for the loss of a loved one -- may require an independent investigation to ensure that all of the available physical evidence and witness statements are acquired and preserved.

Locating drivers in hit-and-run car accidents can be challenging

When a Connecticut driver fails to remain at the scene of an accident, it could be because he or she has some sort of legal issue (such as outstanding warrants) that could lead to consequences apart from the accident. However, that does not excuse drivers who flee from the scenes of car accidents -- especially if it is determined that person was responsible for the crash and any injuries or deaths that occurred. Not only does the responsible driver need to be brought to justice, but knowing what happened to a loved one can help the victim's family find some closure.

Drivers do not always survive the car accidents they cause

In the aftermath of an accident, victims who suffered serious injuries are entitled to file personal injury claims. However, when the drivers involved in these car accidents do not survive, the victims might be confused as to where to turn. Fortunately for the injured parties, Connecticut law allows claims to be filed against the deceased driver's estate.

Witnesses never forget some fatal car accidents

It is most likely not surprising to Connecticut readers that families who have lost loved ones in car wrecks never forget what happened and may even mark the anniversary of their family members' deaths. However, some readers may not realize that witnesses are affected by fatal car accidents, too. As such, they may take the time to recognize at least the first anniversary of the deaths they witnessed.

Car accidents occur in every Connecticut city and town

Since the invention of the automobile, there have been car crashes. Even with the increase in safety measures since that time -- such as traffic control devices, seat belts and airbags -- every city and town in Connecticut experiences serious or deadly car accidents each year, just like the rest of the country. Motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrians are essentially unprotected, and nothing less than their lives are in jeopardy in an accident.
