Construction workers risk being victims of car accidents

It always seems as if there is road construction going on somewhere in Connecticut. That means that there are road construction workers who are at risk of being victims of car accidents. Even with barriers and road signs, there is no guarantee that a worker will not be injured by a  passing motorist.

Deadly single car accidents present challenges to investigators

Witness statements are an important part of any investigation. First-hand accounts can either bolster or otherwise explain the physical evidence at crash scenes. Obtaining witness statements in deadly single car accidents is sometimes impossible, which presents a challenge to the Connecticut investigators who are attempting to figure out how an accident occurred.

Some car accidents are due to objects flying off other vehicles

Most Connecticut drivers focus on their responsibilities to pay attention to the road, act and react appropriately and avoid distractions while they drive. Vehicle maintenance is another component to driving that can just as easily lead to car accidents if a driver is not careful. Failing to maintain a vehicle and/or make sure that the vehicle's parts are properly secured and in good working condition could cause an object to fly off the vehicle and smash into one or more others.

Will mother file wrongful death claim against drunk driver?

The more an individual drinks, the more that person's judgment, coordination and reactions are compromised. That is why Connecticut law states that anyone who gets behind the wheel of a car with a blood alcohol limit of .08 or higher could face criminal charges. If a deadly accident occurs due to the negligence of a drunk driver, a civil action for wrongful death could accompany any criminal charges filed in the case.

Injuries suffered in truck accidents can cause disorientation

In the aftermath of an accident, there is no way to predict how the people involved will react. Depending on the circumstances and their injuries, they could cry, scream or become unruly. This can present a challenge for Connecticut's emergency personnel who respond to car and truck accidents. How first responders deal with these situations might not be helpful, and in some cases, could further injure a victim.
