Some fatal car accidents are caused by running stop signs

People should obey traffic laws for reasons other than simply to avoid getting a ticket. Connecticut's traffic laws also exist in order to eliminate -- or at least limit -- the number of car accidents that could occur in the absence of such laws. Something as simple as running a stop sign could lead to serious injuries and/or death of those involved.

Wrong-way car accidents often result in serious injuries

The speeds on interstates and other Connecticut highways mean that nearly any accident will involve at least some injuries. The severity of the injuries increases as other factors such as speed and impairment are added. In some cases, one of the vehicles involved is heading in the wrong direction, which makes these car accidents extremely dangerous for those involved.

Swimming pools and premises liability claims

Now that the weather is beginning to get warmer, people's thoughts could be turning to spending time in the pool. This means that Connecticut parents might be worried about their children getting into accidents while swimming, which tend to occur more often in the warmer months when more people are swimming outdoors. Over the course of the warmer months, premises liability claims could be filed against establishments and private homes with outdoor -- or indoor -- swimming pools.

Officers' failure to follow procedure can lead to car accidents

All on-duty law enforcement officials here in Connecticut and across the country are required to obey the traffic laws, just as any other driver on the road. Of course, under certain circumstances, they are allowed to circumvent those laws, but only after adhering to policies and procedures set forth by each department. If those rules are not followed, officers can be responsible for causing car accidents.
