Premises Liability

A "slip and fall" is an injury which happens when someone slips, trips or falls as a result of a dangerous or hazardous condition on someone else's property, such as supermarkets, towns and cities, convenience stores, schools, department stores, office buildings, restaurants and shopping centers.

Slip and falls can happen inside or outside a building and can be caused by ice and snow, wet floors, improper lighting, defective stairs or hand railing, or a failure to comply with safety guidelines. If the owner of the premises or an employee caused the spill, worn or torn spot, or other slippery or dangerous surface or hazard, and knew about the dangerous spot but did nothing about it, then you may be entitled to compensation for your injury.

Falls can cause head injuries, loss of sight, broken bones, fractured hips, and sprains and strains.

You may ask yourself, who's going to pay the medical bills? What happens if you have to take time off of work? What if there are long-term effects?

That's where the personal injury attorneys at Dressler Strckland can help. We've got the experience and dillgence to agressively persue the compensation you deserve from those responsible for dangerous conditions.

Rest easy. There are no attorney's fees until we win your case.

Even if you have been injured using equipment on someone else’s property or receive injuries because of another person's actions on the property, we can help.

If you have a slip and fall accident...

  • Immediately report your accident to the property owner or property security company. Be sure to get a copy of the accident report
  • Try to get the name and phone number of any people who may have witnessed your fall
  • Have someone take pictures of the accident scene, your clothing and shoes, and any warnings signs that might be in the area surrounding the accident scene
  • If you have suffered any visible damage to your body (i.e., cuts, scrapes and bruises) have someone take photographs or permit our investigator to take them
  • If possible, place the item that caused your fall into a plastic bag
  • Go to the hospital emergency room immediately if you are in any pain, feel dizzy or have a headache. Do not be afraid to tell the doctor about every area of your body where you are experiencing pain
  • Find out about any other similar accidents in the same area
